THURSDAY AFTERNOON - SUNDAY MORNING

Enjoy a 3 night fishing weekend package where you will stay in a beautiful tropical lodge on Little Gasparilla Island. This bridgeless barrier island is just north of Boca Grande and only 10 minutes from the mainland. The island has no roads or traffic - just white sand paths for exploring. You'll find yourself surrounded by nature - the way Florida used to be. At the turn of the century, the islands of Gasparilla, Little Gasparilla, and Don Pedro and the adjacent mainland were owned by the Vanderbilt family. Three decades ago, sea currents and storms closed the passes that separated the three islands. Since the closing of those passes, the islands are contiguous by over seven miles.

Your 3 night package includes 2 full days of inshore charter fishing, lodging, a golf cart to navigate the Island, food and beverages, ice, gas, bait & tackle, and transportation to and from the mainland.

Check-in time will be Thursday afternoon around 1:00 PM. If you arrive by plane, Captain Heath will meet you at one of the local public landing strips in Englewood or Placida. If you arrive by car, he will meet you at the Placida Public Boat Ramp. At arrival you will cross over Placida Harbor by boat. When you reach Little Gasparilla Island, Captain Heath will help you settle in the lodge for the weekend. Then you will have the option, depending on the time of arrival, to take a quick fishing trip before dinner or explore the Island in your personal golf cart. Thursday night is traditionally steak night and the Captain will prepare the dinner.

Friday is an all day inshore fishing trip. You can choose to fish as long as you wish. Depending on the time of year, the target species will consist of Tarpon, Redfish, Snook, Trout, Mangrove Snapper, & Shark. There will also be many other species caught for bait or for fun. They may include Ladyfish, Catfish, Blue Fish, Spanish Mackerel, Lizard Fish, Blowfish, Pen Fish, Jack Crevel Sting Rays, Barracuda, & Sheephead. Lunch will be at a restaurant on the water near to the area you are fishing. You also have the option to pack a lunch at the lodge before you leave in the morning. Friday night you will take a boat ride to the Fishery Restaurant for dinner where a delicious menu will surely cure most appetites.

Saturday morning starts a new fishing day and once more you choose to fish as long as you wish. Lunch again will be at a restaurant on the water or a packed lunch. Saturday night is Captain Heath’s Famous Fish Fry prepared with the fish you have harvested together.

Sunday morning is check out time and Captain Heath will transport you back to the mainland around 11:00 AM.

Each morning before fishing the Captain will make coffee and a small breakfast. There will also be non-alcoholic drinks, extra snacks, and food in the refrigerator that will be available to you at any time. You may bring your own alcoholic beverages with you or Captain Heath will pick up what you would like if you order in advance. Also, fishing is not mandatory. If you would rather enjoy a day at the beach, spend some time exploring the Island, or just relax at the lodge, please just let the Captain know.
