THE CAPTAIN'S BIO

Captain Heath Seckel was born in Winter Haven , Florida in 1976. At a young age he cut his teeth Bass Fishing in the many freshwater lakes that surround Polk County. At age 10 he started taking weekend vacations to Charlotte Harbor with family and friends. Staying on the island of Little Gasparilla, he began learning the mangrove mazes and inshore grass flats of the harbor. Inshore saltwater fishing became an addiction and passion for him. Every year he spent more time in the harbor chasing the illusive Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, and Trout.

In 1999 he started fishing Redfish Tournaments around the state. Capt. Heath and Partner Brian Ulch eventually worked their way up through the professional tours. They have competed for years in the FLW Redfish Tours, IFA Redfish Tours, and now the Redfish Cup. The Redfish Cup is an invite only Elite Series that brings the best Redfish Anglers in the Country together. They compete for large purses, sponsors, and most of all to be the best. Captain Heath has achieved great success with 7 appearances on ESPN and 2 appearances on Fox Sports network. He is also the head Captain and Co-founder of Wish2Fish charters. Wish2Fish is a tax exempt private foundation that is dedicated to providing a once in a lifetime outdoor experience to disadvantaged individuals. Whether the charter boat captain is fishing the Sarasota sandbars for schooling Redfish or in Pine Island chasing rolling Tarpon, Captain Heath has the experience and personality to make your fishing trip an enjoyable adventure.
